Same Swill, Different Bottle

s1113, the insidious third pillar of  Tom Luna’s School Deformation plan, also known as the Teachers for Laptops bill, was pulled back into the Senate Ed committee and appeared to be headed for a much deserved death.  Of course  some bugs are hard to kill. This morning a closed-door meeting was held with Luna, the Governor and Senate leadership and a plan was hatched to bring this technology bill back under a different name and number. Since they are past the deadline to print bills, they will probably take it to the Special Affairs committee where such rules don’t apply. After printing there they will kick it over to Senate Ed. This bill is important  to Luna because he has to have the technology piece to allow his corporate cronies  to garner a return on their campaign  purchase contributions.

More testimony in Boise  ahead and another chance to kill this legislation. We were close in senate ed committee last time.
